I am a BRCA1 gene mutation carrier. My mother died of breast cancer and my grandmother also tested positive for BRCA1 gene mutation. My mother was never tested, but I assume she was a carrier as well.
The results of my tests were given to me in 2017, right around the same time my husband decided he wanted to end our marriage. My road has been challenging. I believe all things happen for a reason and by God's design.
I have gone for routine testing since 2017. My latest MRI showed abnormalities in my L breast, non-mass enhancement. A breast biopsy of the area revealed invasive ductal carcinoma with some DCIS. The type triple negative breast cancer- aggressive.
I start chemo treatments 2/12/2020.
