I’m happily married and have a 16 year old daughter, Rylee. I’m a healthcare worker as a CT/Xray technologist. I love my job and what I do. I also enjoy traveling, music, the outdoors, reading, painting, and crafts.
On June 14th 2019, I was diagnosed with Stage 1 invasive ductal carcinoma in my right breast. I was only 37 years old. My cancer was ER/PR +, and HER2 negative. On August 5th, 2019 I had a double mastectomy with reconstruction and expanders placed. Then in September I had my port placed and do 4 rounds of TC chemo 3 weeks apart. I got very sick during chemo and was hospitalized twice and had two surgeries. I had every week side effect you could think of, I even got chicken poxs during chemo. Once I started really feeling better and was able to do the exchange surgery to implants Covid hit. So my March surgery was canceled and all my oncology appointments became virtual. It was super scary to not see a doctor in person. In July 2020 I was able to finally have my surgery. I had my breast implants placed, fat grafting, port removed, and a full hysterectomy. Recovery was ruff but I survived. Now I’m trying to find an AI with the least amount of side effects. This has been difficult and ruff to figure out. I just had another surgery 3 weeks ago to have different implants placed, my chest rebuilt, and more fat grafting. So now I’m recovering.
I joined this site to hopefully help newly diagnosed breast cancer patients with their new journey and to get some support from others with similar situations and issues. Moving on from breast cancer is hard and I’m really struggling with that right now.
