I was diagnosed on 1/21/19 with IDC, EP +. HER2-, medium grade, tumor size 2cm, BRACA test negative, oncotype score 9. I had a nipple sparing double mastectomy with reconstruction on 2/15/19. Margrines negative, and lymph nodes clean. I’ve been on a whole food plant based diet since 2/27/19. Inspired by Chris Wark’s cancer beating diet from the book, Chris Beat Cancer. Chris’s book gave me hope and the realization that I have control in healing my body through nutrition, exercise and a healthy lifestyle.
I’ve been married to the love of my life, Ryan for 15 years. We have 3 children, 8 year old twins, Elliegh and Ryleigh and 5 year old Rory! All three of them are beautiful girls that look just like their momma! Lacey is our 15 year old black labradoodle... that we got at a shelter before labradoodles were cool.
I’m an avid long distance runner and yogi. I love running half marathons and I do it mostly for the metals and bragging rights! Due to the cancer diagnosis, my research on cancer and life long limitations from my bilateral mastectomy, my past yoga and long distances running life are forever changed. I have anger and am currently grieving this loss and all the ways the cancer diagnosis has changed me. Hopefully one day soon I can learn to accept the changes.
I’m a Clincial Mental Health therapist, private practice and specialize with children and family. My next career goal is to counsel cancer patients and loved ones before, during and after treatment.
